At What Age Does Your Car Qualify For Classic Car Insurance?

classic car insurance is available on cars of at least 15 years of age

There are many people out their driving around in cars that they possibly don’t realise may qualify for classic car insurance. This is because they think their car is not old enough to qualify for this type of insurance and, therefore, they have arranged standard car insurance that modern cars have.

Well, if your car is a minimum of 15 years of age you may find that you can switch to classic car insurance as long as you are happy with the terms and conditions of such a policy and that the cover provided is sufficient for your purposes. As a result you may even save some money.

One of the reasons why classic car insurance may be cheaper than your normal car insurance is because you are limited to the number of miles that you can drive the vehicle each year. Often, you are restricted to driving no more than 7,500 miles per annum but if you do even fewer miles you may get the cover for even less.

So, work out how many miles you do each year in the car and, if it is at least 15 years old, why not make some enquiries about classic car insurance. One of the ways of doing this is to use a specialist price comparison website. This is a speedy and simple process and should provide you with a number of quotes to peruse.

Another option, if you prefer to speak with someone face to face, is to call into your local high street insurance broker and enquire if they specialise in classic car insurance. You could also speak to such a broker by phone.

Do remember that there are many companies offering such cover so it may pay you to shop around for the most suitable deal.

We hope that you found the above to be of benefit.
