There are a number of different views as to how old the average classic car owner is but around 55 would appear to be a popular choice. For those of you that are members of classic car clubs and\/or attend regular classic and vintage car events you will no doubt agree that there are certainly more people above 40 than below that age.<\/p>\n

\"classic<\/a>

We need to encourage more younger classic car enthusiasts<\/p><\/div>\n

So, looking into the future, what do you think the average age will be in say 10 years time? One could argue that, due to the fact that people are living longer, we are likely to see the average age of the classic car owner rise. That is, of course, assuming that people are still capable of driving their cars safely in their later years.<\/p>\n

However, let\u2019s not forget that those older classic car enthusiasts will one day die so surely we should be doing whatever we can to encourage younger motorists into the classic car fold. There is no doubt that clubs are doing a great deal to entice new younger members when holding their regular meetings and events but we need to see a greater focus on this market.<\/p>\n

Many new enthusiasts join clubs as they are related to an existing member i.e. son or daughter. However, we need to go beyond our families in our search for new classic car enthusiasts. There is an awful lot to be said for encouraging newcomers by increasing the number of club events that are open to the public with the most visible being a parade of classic cars through our town centres as well as existing classic car owners getting out in their vehicles more often. There is no doubt that being seen more often will help increase interest in this wonderful hobby.<\/p>\n

So, let\u2019s do what we can to get more 25 plus classic car enthusiasts on our roads as soon as possible. After all, they are the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
