You may well have invested a considerable amount of time and money in buying and restoring your classic car. Therefore, it is important that it is well maintained mechanically and is also kept clean. So, let\u2019s have a look at a few things to help you keep your car\u2019s appearance pristine.<\/p>\n

\"Washing<\/a>

Washing your classic car on a frequent basis should help maintain the paintwork.<\/p><\/div>\n

Washing<\/h2>\n

Do not use washing up liquid that you use to clean the dishes as it is not considered suitable to wash classic cars with. There are plenty of car shampoos to choose from that are available in retail outlets that are tailor-made for cars. You may also wish to avoid putting your cherished vehicle through an automated car wash. It is probably far better to hand-wash your classic car and start from the top and work down.<\/p>\n

You should try to give the car a good hosing down before you get out the sponge, water and shampoo as it is important that any grime is removed at the outset to reduce the possibility of your vintage car\u2019s paintwork being scratched. Don\u2019t forget to do under the wheel-arches as they tend to get dirtier than elsewhere on the car.<\/p>\n

Take your time when washing to ensure that all dirt and stains are removed. This should help ensure the paintwork will remain in good condition for many years to come.<\/p>\n

Finish cleaning the windows using a suitable window cleaning liquid.<\/p>\n

Drying<\/h2>\n

Don\u2019t leave the car to dry by itself as you may be left with water marks. Use a chamois leather to dry the vehicle as this should help provide a blemish-free finish.<\/p>\n

Polishing<\/h2>\n

Use a wax polish and cloth to provide both a sparkling finish to the paintwork as well as to give the bodywork added protection against the elements.<\/p>\n
