One of the most popular places to buy a classic car is at a specialist auction. These take place on a regular basis around the UK. Some will tend to concentrate on auctioning extremely expensive classic vehicles often costing hundreds of thousands of pounds if not millions. However, there are many auctions that take place involving vehicles that cost just a few thousand pounds.<\/p>\n

Some good deals can be had at an auction but do remember not to get carried away when bidding. Stick to your budget. Do remember that the auction house will charge commission on each sale.<\/p>\n

Private Sale<\/h2>\n

Many classic cars are advertised for sale privately through the likes of specialist classic car magazines or websites or even in local press. Some of you may prefer this option rather than entering into public bidding that you get at auction.<\/p>\n

With a private sale you can go along at a pre-arranged time to look over the vehicle without any other interested buyers being present. Yes, of course there may be other people that are also considering purchasing the vehicle but it is a little different to attending an auction.<\/p>\n

Classic Car Showroom<\/h2>\n

It is possible to buy a classic car from a company that specializes in the sale of such vehicles just like you can buy a new or second hand car at a car showroom. You can usually expect to pay more for a classic car sold in this way that with a private sale as you would often expect the vehicle to come with some sort of guarantee.<\/p>\n
