Now, some insurers will charge high insurance premium\u00a0specifically to the drivers who use mobile phones behind the wheels. Earlier the insurers used to charge the mobile phone conviction as equivalent to speeding conviction. With this new regime the classic car insurance premium will rise by 30% which used to be applicable to the drivers with dangerous driving convictions.<\/p>\n

The young drivers aged between 17\u00a0and 34 years of age have more chances of committing offence as compared to that above 55. The young drivers have more chances of using mobile while driving, which increases their chances of collision and accident. The mobile distracts the driver and he is unable to concentrate on road which increases the risk for both the driver and other road users.<\/p>\n

The strict action of insurance firms against mobile users might help in avoiding mobile usage by young drivers while driving. It is completely unnecessary to use mobile driving as it not only increases the risk of mishap but also influences classic car insurance quotes. So instead of indulging in such dangerous activity one needs to avoid talking on phone\u00a0 to ensure safe driving.<\/p>\n

As per the Department for Transport the driver’s reaction is 50% slower if using mobile as compared to the one under the influence of alcohol. The phone distracts the driver concentration more as compared to alcohol that is why the insurer quoted mobile user in dangerous zone and charge heavy premium due to more chances of accident. The chances of accident increases fourfold when a driver uses mobile while driving.<\/p>\n

Currently the penalty for mobile usage while driving is of three points on license and fine but with insurance firms strict action now the car owners will have to bear premium hike if keep on using mobile while driving. The hike in classic car insurance premium might force young drivers to avoid using mobiles and c concentrate more on road to drive efficiently.
