Undue risk at level crossing hampers classic car insurance

The classic cars are the prestigious possession of the owner but risking the safety of both vehicle and driver at the level crossing will not only damage your vehicle but might also invalidate your classic car insurance policy. It is wise to drive the classic car safely as any mishap can worse affect your driving record as well as classic car insurance premium. The classic car insurance company might refuse you the claim amount resulting in loss of not only expensive classic car but even life of the driver as well as co-passenger.

The drivers are becoming riskier and dangerous at level crossings as the near miss with trains has increased to 15% in last year.9th June is celebrated as International Level Crossing Awareness Day as more and more of the drivers are becoming victims of risks taken by them in hurry. Further AA has warned the drivers against playing Russian Roulette on crossings.

Although near miss figures have raised but actual collision between road vehicles and trains has reduced to 50%.Even the death number at level crossing has also decreased from 13 to four last year.

According to the president of AA the drivers who drive dangerously at level crossing are not only risking their lives but also others who follow them. The driver must not ignore the crossing warning signs as it might not only damage your vehicle but also cost your life.

According to the British Transport Police Superintendent for operations there are warning signs on every crossings whether road, rail cross or footpath and the people ignoring it might have to see fatal consequences. The British police with work along with local police and network rail to impart knowledge about the dangers associated with level crossings. Further action will be taken against the car owners who will still continue the misusage of crossings.

It is better to stay protected with classic car insurance to enjoy driving.
