Auction Of Petitjean Collection Of Classic Cars Postponed Due To Coronavirus

Unfortunately, RM Sotheby’s Essen auction that included the sale of dozens of classic racing and sports cars owned by Marcel Petitjean who used to race cars that was due to take place later this month has been postponed until possibly sometime in June due to the coronavirus. The timing of the event will be dependent upon what happens with the pandemic.

It is forecast that the sale of the vehicles may realise many millions of pounds. Below we highlight just some of his cars: –

A 1979 Lamborghini Countach LP400 S by Bertone is said to only have some 13,800 km on the clock. This is an extremely rare vehicle as it is one of only 50 of the LP400 S that were manufactured in the first production run. It is offered for sale without reserve.

There are several Alfa Romeos being offered for sale including a 1956 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider with red coachwork and black leather seats that is said to only have 22,821 miles on the clock. It has been in the same ownership for 24 years. It is offered for sale without reserve.

There is a fantastic looking 1971 Alpine-Renault A110 1600 S that has been in the same ownership for 40 years. It comes with fog lights and a roll bar. It also is being offered for sale with no reserve.

How about a 1955 Aston Martin DB2/4 Drophead Coupe that most classic car enthusiasts would be proud to own. It has been in the same ownership since 1985 and has a 3.6 litre DB4 engine that is capable of producing 240 bhp. It can seat up to 4 people so would be lovely to take out for a Sunday jaunt on a warm summer’s afternoon. Only 761 were built. It is being offered for sale with no reserve.

There are a number of Austin-Healeys including a great looking 1959 Austin-Healey 100-6 BN6 that has been in the same ownership for 36 years. Its coachwork is in black with a red leather interior. This is available to buy without reserve.

If you are keen on classic Jaguars then you have a few to choose from including a 1950 Jaguar XK 120 Roadster with silver bodywork and a red interior. It has been in the same ownership for 32 years. It is being offered for sale without reserve.
