Mathewsons Auctioning Some Affordable Classic Vehicles

You don’t have to pay hundreds of thousands of pounds to buy a classic car if you are not in the financial position to do so. Many classic vehicles are affordable to quite a lot of people. Below we thought we would highlight just some of the cherished cars to be auctioned by Mathewsons through its online auction to take place from the 20th May 2026 until the 22nd May 2026 with all days commencing at 10.00am. It is worth noting that you can visit the auctioneers to view the vehicles between the 13th May 2026 to 19th May 2026.

How about a lovely looking 1968 MG Model C Roadster that has an estimated sale price of between £10,000 to £13,000. It has a 2,912cc engine making it quite a powerful classic. It has been in its current ownership since August 1984 that we are sure you will agree is a very long time. Its bodywork is in Mineral Blue with a white roof. It has wire wheels and a hardtop. It s likely to catch the eyes of many a passer by.

What about something a little older. Take a look at a 1947 Triumph Roadster that has an estimated sale price of between £14,000 to £16,000. It has an 1800cc engine. It has been in the same ownership for more than 20 years and in that time is said to have had a full restoration. It looks a delightful open-topped sports car and may well attract quite a bit of attention. It has cream leather seats. Just take a look at the great looking dashboard. Imagine taking it out on the roads on a warm summer’s afternoon – preferably with the roof down so that the wind passes through your hair as you drive in the countryside.

Why not take a look at something a little different – a 1952 Morris Cowley van. It has a 1622 cc engine. It has been in the same ownership for in excess of 25 years. A bolt and nut restoration has been undertaken. It has dark green bodywork and a soft top.  It has an estimated sale price of £9,000 to £11,000. Interestingly, it has a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate.

If you are on an extremely tight budget then how about casting your eyes over a 1967 Austin Healey Sprite Historic Rally Car that has an estimated sale price of between £1,500 to £2,500.  It has been laid up since taking part in the British Historic Championship in 2004. It has a 1275cc engine.
