Low Mileage Triumph Herald To Be Auctioned

This sounds like a tremendous opportunity for someone to purchase an extremely low mileage classic car that is, we are sure you will agree, a rarity these days.

Coming up for auction is a rare Coventry built Triumph Herald 1200 dating back to 1961 making it just over 50 years of age. In fact, the vehicle has still got the original tax disc on it going back to that year which only cost £15. You will no doubt be surprised to read that the classic car only has 20 miles on the clock.

The Triumph Herald is a delightful sought after classic car

A Triumph Herald

Apparently, the car was delivered on a trailer by the car dealer to the lady that purchased it and it was only ever driven on the day that it was delivered – hence the reason why it has such a low mileage. It is expected to fetch a sizeable sum at auction.

A number of years later the car dealer was contacted by the family of the lady to notify him that she had, regrettably, passed away and he was asked if he would like to purchase the classic car. Having gone along to take a look at the car and found that it had so few miles on the clock and was no doubt in excellent condition he decided to buy it and kept it as part of his private collection.

The Classic Car and Motorcycle auction that is being run by East Anglian Motor Auctions of Wymondham, Norfolk is due to take place on Saturday 28th September 2013 when the Triumph Herald is expected to sell for anything between £12,000 to £15,000. Also being auctioned are a couple of Triumph Dolomites that have only got about 80 miles on the clock plus there is another Triumph Herald dating back to 1960 that has done 3,750 miles for sale.

So, if you are interested in Triumphs why not get yourself along to this auction with doors opening at 9 30am.
