Mathewsons Classic Car Auction

The above auctioneers hold a regular sale of classic vehicles. We highlight below some of the vehicles auctioned from the 25th to 27th June 2025.

A 1969 Triumph GT6 had an estimated sale price of £6,000 to £7,000 but was sold for £7,000.  It is a nice looking sports car. Since 2017, it has only done about 1,200 miles. It has a 2.0 litre 6-cylinder engine. It is right hand drive and its bodywork is red.

Those of you who are fans of the MINI may find it of interest to read that a 1979 Austin Morris MINI 1275 GT that had an estimated sale price of £7,750 to £8,750 was sold for £9,000. Its coachwork is in blue. It has a 1275cc engine.

What about a 1966 Lotus Elan S2 sports car that had an estimated sale price of £20,000 to £25,000 but was actually sold for £28,300.  Its bodywork is in white and it only has 19,173 miles on the clock making it a very low mileage for a car of this age.

It has had a full bolt and nut restoration in the past. This classic sports car would certainly catch the eye of passers by.

A 1970 Morris said to be a Morris Minor Traveller had an estimated sale price of £8,000 to £10,000 and sold for £8,200. It has 94,000 miles on the clock so has had some use over the years. Apparently, the bodywork has recently been restored.

Yet another 2 door sports car – this time a red 1967 Sunbeam. It had an estimated sale price of £12,000 to £14,000 and was sold for £11,000. It has a 4,950cc engine. It appears to have had an awful lot of work undertaken on it as mentioned on the auctioneer’s website.
