Jaguar Land Rover Buys Dentist’s Collection Of Classic Cars

It was only back in May 2014 that we mentioned about James Hull intending to put his huge collection of classic cars up for auction. He had wished them all to go to one buyer.

Well, we thought that you would like to know that they have been bought by one purchaser and that is Jaguar Land Rover that is based here in the UK. This is surely excellent news.

Apparently, he had been hoping to sell them for around £100 million but it is believed that this figure was not achieved for the 500 plus cars. It is believed that this was the biggest known privately owned British classic car collection.

Jaguar Land Rover started off as the Swallow Sidecar Company back in 1922. Its interest in the collection no doubt lies in the many Swallow Sidecars and Jaguars that are in the collection. The collection is to be housed in a purpose built unit in Coventry.

All too often, classic British cars are bought by overseas purchasers and we never see them again here in the UK. It will be interesting to find out if the new owners will be going to allow the public to come along and view the collection. We are sure that you will agree that they would prove to be a huge attraction so let us hope that they do become available for public viewing at some point in the not too distant future.

If Jaguar Land Rover do allow the public to see the collection it is great that they are located in the Midlands making them more centrally based within the UK thus encouraging more classic car enthusiasts to visit.

As always, we would welcome the comments of our readers so feel free to do so and let us know what you think about this news. Would you welcome the opportunity to view this classic car collection?
